Description
Safety & Compliance
- Fully compliant with AS/NZS 1940:2017 standards.
- Multiple units supplied to customers requiring WorkSafe NZ approval.
- Designed for safe storage and segregation of Class 3 flammable liquids.
Shelf Design & Construction
V-Groove Channel Shelves:
- Reinforced using precision-formed "V" groove channels.
- Provides significantly greater structural strength and rigidity compared to flat-sheet shelving.
- Improves load-bearing capability for safe storage of Class 3 flammable liquids.
Punched Drainage Holes:
- Strategically placed to allow liquids to be efficiently directed from the grooves.
- Enhances spill containment and supports drainage into the bunded base.
- Superior performance compared to simple flat-sheet perforations.
Primary Safety Functions:
- Spill Control: Prevents and contains accidental spillage through bunded base and channelled shelf system.
- Ignition Prevention: Isolates flammable liquids inside the cabinet to reduce ignition risk.
- Safe Storage Practices: Encourages proper housekeeping by consolidating flammable liquids and segregating them from incompatible substances.
Cabinet Features
- Flame-Arrestor Vents - Integrated vents fitted with flame-arresting mesh for controlled ventilation.
- Earthing Points - Provides grounding to dissipate static electricity and reduce ignition hazards.
- Adjustable Shelving - Height-adjustable shelves for flexible configuration according to container size.
- Adjustable Feet - Ensures stable placement on uneven surfaces.
-
Bunded Base Section
- Captures leaks and spills.
- Easy access for cleaning and spill retrieval.
-
Double-Walled Steel Construction
- Creates an insulating air gap to reduce heat transfer.
- Enhances fire resistance and cabinet integrity.
Applications
- Storage of Class 3 flammable liquids such as solvents, fuels, thinners, and chemicals.
- Workshops, laboratories, industrial facilities, transport hubs, and compliance-driven environments.
Class 3 - Flammable liquids (AS1940-2017) Liquids, mixtures of liquids or liquids containing solids in solution or suspension (e.g. paints, varnishes, lacquers, etc. but not including substances otherwise classified on account of their dangerous characteristics) which give off a flammable vapour at temperatures of not more than 60.5C, closed cup test, or not more than 65.6C, open cup test, normally referred to as the flashpoint.
